Derrick Starr is an illustrator and 2024 graduate of the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration. They spent their childhood making up stories and characters in Glen Ellyn, IL, where they currently reside. Their work is primarily digital and consists of character and portrait work, often inspired by comics, video games, and their own dreams. They made the Dean’s List for the last four years, and have previous work experience designing book signing posters for Moorhead Friends Writing Group. When they aren’t drawing, they enjoy reading a good book, playing video games, and spending time with their dog.
